It is being reported that since that since Impact Wrestling has started travelling from city to city, it has been suffering financially. The show, which is usually filmed at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, recently made the change to tour, an idea pushed by Hulk Hogan and former TNA alumni Eric Bischoff, who both made the claim that moving the show was a necessary game changer.
However, TNA President Dixie Carter has revealed that the move has been very detrimental to the company. The change has not changed the amount of revenue the company receives, and the ratings for the show have actually declined. Also, the cost of a taping has now skyrocketed to $600,000 since the show went mobile.
It seems that TNA feel that they have to do whatever WWE do. RAW is in a new city every week, so should Impact then. But what I think they need to remember is that WWE is a much bigger company than TNA. They an afford to do things that TNA shouldn't even dream of doing. I think TNA need to establish themselves as their own show, rather than trying desperately to be a parallel alternative to WWE programming.
